How to Avoid the Perils of Fats, Oils & Grease

1. How thick is the pad?

The five layer design features a 2.75" thick pad designed specifically to capture fats, oils and grease.

2. Can the pads be cut?

Yes, you can use heavy sheers to cut the pads.

3. How long will it last before I have to replace the pad?

Since every kitchen is different there is no way to determine how long the pad will last. Contributing factors are what you cook, how often you cook, what you cook with, and how often your hood system is cleaned. Making sure to get regular hood cleanings and keeping your filters clean will in turn result in less grease escaping to the fan and less grease that will be gathered in the pads. The less grease you have on the pad, the longer it will last.

4. Can I use the pads without the frame?

The frame is necessary to hold the pads in place and to ensure that they are held down safely to your roof and curb.
