4. How do I choose the right size hood filter?
The safest thing to do is to measure each of the filters that are currently in the hood. Remember, the height is the first measurement listed. If you do not have filters in your hood to measure you can start by measuring the hood opening from top to bottom and left to right. Make sure you are measuring where the filters are actually installed, not the overall hood itself. Once you have the hood opening measurements you can use our handy filter calculator to pick your filters and then determine how many will fill your space. If you still need help determining sizes or type of filter our staff is always ready to help, you can reach us at 877-394-9731 or by email at customerservice@hoodfilters.com.
5. What is the difference between a Welded and a Riveted filter?
A welded Filter has baffles that are machined into the metal and has 2 pieces of metal welded together for a strong construction. A riveted filter will have individual baffles that are fastened into place with rivets and then framed together.
6. How do I clean this filter?
Filters can be cleaned by hand, in a dishwasher or by soaking them in a sink or tank. Please see page 12 of our Hood Filter Handbook for more details.
