Baffle grease filters collect grease and stop flames from penetrating into the hood exhaust ductwork. They are designed to prevent flames from passing through the baffles and can withstand various temperature levels. The solid baffle construction of each hood filter ensures a reliable flame barrier when you need it. Practicing efficient grease removal lowers the risk of such flare-ups.

This 2" thick grease filter contains two layers of equally spaced roll formed baffles. The spacing creates an airflow that allows grease to collect, then drain down the baffles and finally into the collecting trough.

Fire Codes Every Restaurant Owner Should Know

1. Do you have hooks for this filter?

Yes, you can purchase this filter with Snap-On Hooks. The hooks can be found here. Or you can simply check the box for Snap-on Hooks on the filter page to add them to your order.

2. What kind of steel is this filter made of?

This filter is made from 430 Stainless Steel.

3. Is this filter fire code compliant?

Yes, this filter meets NFPA requirements and is UL listed for both the USA and Canada.

4. How do I choose the right size hood filter?

The safest thing to do is to measure each of the filters that are currently in the hood. Remember, the height is the first measurement listed.  If you do not have filters in your hood to measure you can start by measuring the hood opening from top to bottom and left to right. Make sure you are measuring where the filters are actually installed, not the overall hood itself. Once you have the hood opening measurements you can use our handy filter calculator (insert link) to pick your filters and then determine how many will fill your space. If you still need help determining sizes or type of filter our staff is always ready to help, you can reach us at 877-394-9731 or by email at [email protected]

5. What does "cut safe" baffle mean?

Cut Safe means there are no exposed sharp edges on the filter. Other brands have exposed sharp edges, usually on the baffles, which can cause cuts to hands and fingers when handling the filter.

6. How do I clean this filter?

Filters can be cleaned by hand, in a dishwasher or by soaking them in a sink or tank. Please see page 12 of our Hood Filter Handbook for more details.
